because the outside world has changed...

episode 1............ drawings by Igor Sevcuk and film by Go-Eun Im, 2:00, 2013

16 mm footage of Bolex film workshop is recorded in no.w.here, London, 2013. This rapid film montage is reconnected with an excerpt from Kurt Vonnegut Jr.'s SF novel: Timequake.* The chosen excerpt is a passage focusing on experience of so called acculturated persons:

”... those who find that they are no longer treated as the sort of people they thought they were, because the outside world has changed. An economic misfortune or a new technology, or being conquered by another country or political faction, can do that to people quicker than you can say 'Jack Robinson'...”

overview of the collaboration: because the outside world has changed...

*
In this novel by some unexplainable 'timequake' personages are doomed to repeat the last ten years of theirs life. By following the exact trace of theirs own past they are witnessing and enacting it again. Without free will to change or adjust any of events, they are participating in a kind of non-fictional or 'perfect' documentary.
