STATEMENT

I am involved with intuitive trajectories in which the settings of everyday life encounter politics of memory. I retrace various recordings: my own and found footages, literary notes, diaries, photographs and other archived documents. These materials interact (or haunt each other) through subsequent essayistic montage. With this, it is the 'cinematic thinking' that enables me to track and capture the interplay of shared past, daily coexistence and things to come.

My long-term investigations rethink and relate sensitive (or traumatic) personal (and collective) experiences, protagonists and circumstances, histories retold and events that have occurred since. Shifting and intersecting layers - as in a reminiscence - require openness and reflective participation from spectators. The ambition is to revive a form of shared consciousness, visual and textual entanglement that flows through one's self, the other and time.

These dialectical essays combine various media - video, writing, photography and drawing - that occasionally come together in a spatial installation.

OTHER THOUGHTS:

in general - montage - protagonists - spectators - media - music - language - limits of our tribes...
